Why hasn’t my fax gone out yet?

In short

Usually, yes. A confirmed fax joins a transmission queue and generally leaves within one to two minutes, sometimes longer at busy times. Keep the tracking page open: it updates by itself. Do not resend the same document while no failure is shown, or the recipient will get it twice.

Where is your fax?

The first possible step is email confirmation. Until you click the link you received, nothing leaves; the link stays valid for three minutes, after which you must submit again. Remember to look in your spam folder.

Once the link is clicked, a countdown of about 55 seconds gives you time to cancel. The fax then enters the transmission queue, moves to sending, and finally shows its result.

Timings worth knowing

Allow one to two minutes of transmission in normal conditions, a bit more when many sends are under way or the document has lots of pages. Tracking refreshes every five seconds: reloading the page will not speed anything up.

When to act

If the status has stopped moving after ten minutes or so, write to contact@faxtelecom.com or use the contact page, including the link to your tracking page. If a failure appears, check the number before trying again. Do not duplicate a send that is still in progress: both would end up going out.

Key points

  • No click on the confirmation link (3 minutes), no fax.
  • Countdown of about 55 seconds, cancellable, then the queue.
  • One to two minutes of transmission, longer at busy times.
  • No change after ten minutes? Contact us with the tracking link.
