Should I add a cover page to my fax?

In short

FaxTelecom already generates one automatically from your form: sender, recipient, subject and message. If the recipient expects a fuller cover sheet — case reference, page count, a specific department — our free generator produces a PDF you slot in as page one.

Why it matters

In a hospital, a city hall or a law firm, one fax machine often serves an entire floor. The first page is what gets your document into the right hands. Without it, anonymous pages may sit in a tray for days, or end up in the bin.

FaxTelecom’s page, and when to go further

With every send, FaxTelecom builds a cover page showing your name, the recipient’s name, the subject and the message you typed. Write those fields with care: they are the first thing the recipient reads.

Some organisations want more: a case, member or patient number, the receiving department, the total page count, a “confidential” notice. In that case, a dedicated sheet as the first page of your PDF removes any doubt.

Create one in a minute

Our free fax cover page tool turns a handful of fields into a tidy PDF, no account needed. Merge it at the front of your document. Bear in mind that it adds a page, and a send costs €3.99 VAT included from the second page onwards. Our article on cover page best practices offers wording templates.

Key points

  • A cover page is generated automatically with every send.
  • It shows sender, recipient, subject and message.
  • A detailed sheet is advisable for demanding organisations.
  • An added sheet counts as a page of the PDF.
